I am a very passionate software engineer which is something that has always been reflected in my work. I believe software engineering is a craft as well as a science; countless hours have been spent at home improving my skills by reading books, tinkering with new languages and frameworks, and keeping up to date with technology in general as much as possible.
I've been into computers for as long as I can remember, but I never got into coding until I was about 10. My uncle bought me a copy of Visual Basic 6 and a programming guide to go with it. I had a blast and have been in love with programming ever since.
I like creating things. What steered me towards computer science rather than something like electrical engineering is the fact that when I write software, I am not limited by the physical materials in front of me. There is an entire world of possibilities which is something that is simply not available in other engineering disciplines.
AREAS OF EXPERTISE
My interests lay mainly in the realm of Java/JEE, though I enjoy solving all kinds of technical problems. I have recently been using Groovy/Grails on a project and am starting to play with other dynamic web languages like Ruby/Rails. I have also spent some of my free time contributing to open source projects.
